The long run down I-15
Las Vegas sits at the far end of the I-15 south corridor, which makes it one of the longer hauls we run. The whole route is interstate, but there is a lot of road between Bluffdale and the Las Vegas valley.
Because this is regional service, we plan the load around a pickup window, and we say so before you commit. What does not change on a run this long is who carries the freight. One truck and one driver take it the whole way south, with no terminals and no handoffs between Salt Lake and Clark County.
Through St. George and the Virgin River Gorge
The drive tells you why a direct run matters here. I-15 carries you the length of Utah and past St. George, then down through the Virgin River Gorge where the interstate cuts across the far northwest corner of Arizona. It crosses into Nevada at Mesquite before it opens onto the valley.

A big market at the end of the road
Las Vegas and the rest of Clark County make up the largest market at the far end of any lane we run, and the freight demand shows it. Construction and build-out rarely slow down, equipment moves constantly between yards and sites, and time-sensitive parts have to reach operations that cannot afford to wait.
For a market that size at the end of a corridor that long, plenty of freight can move on a standard schedule. What we are built for is the load that cannot, the one where being a day late costs more than the run itself.

The loads that justify a run this long are rarely routine. It is the line-down part that stops a crew, the one-off oversized piece that will not fit a scheduled truck, the vehicle that cannot wait, the odd urgent load that has to be somewhere by a deadline.
The truck itself is nothing exotic. Heavy-duty pickups pulling flatbed trailers. The load is secured with DOT-compliant chains and binders, photographed before we tarp it, and photographed again at the drop. When a piece runs bigger than our decks can take, it goes to our brokered freight network.
