Evanston is one of the shortest out-of-state runs we make. It sits right over the Utah and Wyoming line on I-80, the first Wyoming town you reach heading east from Salt Lake, and that puts it inside easy reach of a truck based in Bluffdale. Of all the interstate lanes we cover outside Utah, this is about as close as the border gets, a quick hop east rather than the long haul that most out-of-state freight turns into.

First town over the state line
Evanston is the seat of Uinta County and the first commercial stop in the southwest corner of Wyoming. For freight coming out of the Salt Lake area, it is where the interstate crosses into the state, and a lot of loads bound for the ranches, energy sites, and smaller towns of the county come through here first. The Bear River runs through the middle of town, and I-80 carries most of what moves in and out. It is a border town, and it works like one.
